No — a manual rake is designed mainly to remove excess sand, level the surface, eliminate ruts, smooth out the “trenches” along the boards and tidy the first track.
The best results come from combining a mechanical arena grader with a manual rake — the machine works on deeper layers, while the rake perfects the top surface.

3. How often should I level the footing with a manual rake?

It depends on the number of horses using the arena and the intensity of the training. Busy stables use the rake several times a day; smaller facilities — as needed.

4. Does using a manual rake require physical strength?

Yes / No — the rake weighs around 11 kg, but thanks to its stable, ergonomic construction, it is easy to manoeuvre without excessive effort.
